Merrill Arts Center’s Family Theater Kicks off the Holiday Season with Madeline’s Christmas

Enchanting Holiday Musical Based on the Classic Children’s Story

Woodbury, Minn. (November 8, 2019) —“Madeline’s Christmas,” a holiday musical for the entire family, runs December 6-9 and December 13-15 at the Loft Stage, located at East Ridge High School. A special 9:30 a.m. matinee for groups of 12 or more is planned for Thursday, December 12. Princess Tea Parties with the Woodbury Ambassador Royal Family are planned as special events at 12:30 p.m. prior to the Sunday matinee performances of the production.

“In an old house in Paris that was covered with vines, lived 12 little girls in two straight lines,” begins this magical musical adaptation of Ludwig Bemelman’s beloved classic children’s tale. “Madeline’s Christmas” is a festive treat for adults and children alike.

“Like Bemelman’s infamous character Madeline, the play is short, sweet, and bursting with enthusiasm,” says director Hannah Bakke. “There will be singing, dancing, tigers, ice cream, and more. If you are looking for something to get you and your family in the holiday spirit, look no further!”

In addition, a Princess Tea Party with Madeline and friends is a fun way to treat kids to the thrilling childhood experience. The Woodbury Ambassador Royal Family will make an appearance, and each party-goer will enjoy a yummy Bundtini from the Woodbury Nothing Bundt Cakes and a beverage. Princess Tea Parties takes place at 12:30 p.m. before the 2 p.m. matinee performances on Sunday, December 8 and Sunday, December 15.
