WOODBURY LEADERSHIP ACADEMY DRAMA CLUB: PERFORMANCE – FALL 2026
Thursdays After School – 2nd Grade and Up
$139 – Register multiple kids at once for $129 each
- Taught by Dayna Railton, Artistic Director of The Play’s The Thing Children’s Theatre Company.
- Kids work together to bring a short play to life in a rehearsal setting.
- Students will learn the basic vocabulary of theatre, memorize lines, and put on a short workshop-style performance for a small audience of parents and invited guests.
- 3:50pm – 4:00pm : Snack (bring a snack & water bottle)
- 4:00pm – 5:00pm : Rehearsal.
- Term ending in a performance of an workshop-style play for invited audience.
Sept. 10, 17, 24, Oct 1, 8, 22, 29, November 5, 12, 18 & 19. Please note: The 18th of May is dress rehearsal & final performance for parents at 4:30 on November 19.

WOODBURY LEADERSHIP ACADEMY CREATIVE DRAMA CLUB: THEATER GAMES
FALL 2027
Thursdays After School – 2nd Grade and Up
$129 – Register multiple kids at once for $109 each
- Creative Drama GAMES class uses theater and imagination games to teach the theater vocabulary and cooperation while encouraging creativity. No memorization or rehearsals. This club is recommended for kids who are new to theater, or for those who do not have the time to memorize lines.
- 3:50pm – 4:00pm : Snack (bring a snack & water bottle)
- 4:00pm – 5:00pm : Theatre games.
Sept. 10, 17, 24, Oct 1, 8, 22, 29, November 5, 12, 19. Please note: The 19th of May is the final performance for the WLA Drama Club and the Games class will attend at 4:30 on November 19.

FALL SUNDAY CHESS CLUB
September 13, October 11, & Nov 15
1:00 to 2:30 ; For ages 8-17

Fall Sunday Chess Club is designed for kids who understand the basics of chess and want a chance to get together with other kids in the summer to play. Tournament play with a focus on sportsmanship and decorum. Mentoring focuses on advancing knowledge of tactics and strategy.
This session is taught by Jayne Petrich. Jayne has worked with kids as a teacher and a tutor for over 30 years. She loves chess and is excited to work with kids in developing their chess skills.
This chess club is at MAC 380 Rivertown Drive, Suite 200 in Woodbury
WEDNESDAY WLA CHESS CLUB
For ages 8-17
Wednesday WLA Chess Club is designed for kids who understand the basics of chess and want a chance to get together with other kids for tournament play with a focus on sportsmanship and decorum. Mentoring focuses on advancing knowledge of tactics and strategy.

Semi-Private Acting Classes
October 3, 10, November 7, 14, 21
9:30 to 10:30 ; For ages 12-18
Merrill Arts Center Semi-Prive Acting for kids ages 12 to 18 taught by Shell Wolf, MFA. These classes will meet the students where they are and help them grow as performers. Classes will be designed to increase students current skills and learn new ones helping them feel more confident in future productions.
Shell has an MFA in theater from Minnesota State University, Mankato. She is an actor and director and has worked with young people for over 20 years. She loves to help them reach their full potential and watch them grow.
Classes are from 9:30 to 10:30 Saturdays October 3, 10, and November 7, 14 with a showcase on November 21st These will be held at Merrill Arts Center – 380 Rivertown Dr, Ste 200, Woodbury MN 55125. Suite 200 is at the opposite end from the Woodbury Dance Center. Drop off is from 9:15 with classes starting promptly at 9:30.
