For ages 10-18

Auditions: September 5, 2026 @1:00pm-3:00pm
Merrill Arts Center, 380 Rivertown Drive, Suite 200, Woodbury, MN
$189 Registration Fee; Multi-child discount applied at checkout

Auditions & Rehearsals will be at 380 Rivertown Drive, Suite 200 in Woodbury.  Performances are all matinees, mid and late October at Merrill Arts Center. Cast will need to be available for all performances and technical rehearsals.

Rehearsals: Fridays (6-8:30pm) and Saturdays (1-4pm) September & October

If you will be unable to attend rehearsals over MEA weekend, just write the dates in the conflict section of the audition form. Your child will still be cast. 

Load in week (with parents)   October 10-18 (different departments load in on different days)
Tech Rehearsals:  October 19-23,  6-9pm;
Performances at 2pm October 24-25, 31 & Nov 1.

The Boy Who Cried Wolf – Auditions
For ages 5-9

Auditions: September 5, 2026, 9:30am-11:30am
Merrill Arts Center, 380 Rivertown Drive, Suite 200, Woodbury, MN
$189 Registration Fee; Multi-child discount applied at checkout

Auditions and Rehearsals will be at 380 Rivertown Drive, Suite 200 in Woodbury. MAC is at the opposite end from the Woodbury Performance Center. Performances are all matinees, mid and late October at Performances are all matinees at Merrill Arts Center. Cast will need to be available for all performances and technical rehearsals.

Rehearsals: Saturdays (9:30-noon) September & October

If you will be gone over MEA weekend, your child can still be cast. Just include it in your conflicts.

The Matchmaker by Thornton Wilder – Auditions

Auditions:  December 14th and 15th at 6:00pm and will be at 380 Rivertown Drive, Suite 200 in Woodbury. 

Rehearsals: January 11th – March 18

Load in: March 1
Tech Rehearsals: March 8 – 18
Performances: March 19-28, 2027

Exhausted BeautyAuditions

Auditions: Feb 13, 2027 9:30am-noon
Rehearses on Saturday mornings.
$199 Registration fee; multi-child discount applied at checkout

For ages 5-12
A 20-minute play for younger or first-time actors. Children do not need to read to be able to participate. Professional directors and designers work behind the scenes for a full production experience.

Synopsis: A fun retelling of the Sleeping Beauty myth with a twist. The princess is cursed to stay awake, and drives the kingdom crazy with her late night exploration of loud musical hobbies. 

-Auditions will be at 380 Rivertown Drive, Suite 200 in Woodbury. Unless enough kids audition for a double cast, full cast will need to be available for all performances and technical rehearsals.

Rehearsals: Saturday mornings 9:30am-noon starting Feb 20.
Tech Rehearsals: Apr 10 & 17, 9:30-noon and 4-6:30 Apr 20 & 22
Performances at 2 pm on April 24-25 & May 1-2 and at 5:30 on Apr 27, 29 & 30

Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland Auditions
Directed by Dayna Railton

Auditions: Feb 20, 1-3:30pm
Rehearses Friday evenings and Saturday afternoons.
$199 Registration fee; multi-child discount applied at checkout

For ages 9-18
A 75-minute play by kids, for kids with professional director and design support for a full production experience.

Synopsis: A great adaptation of the classic book. Alice and a ton of whacky characters embark upon an adventure in a silly dreamscape.

-Auditions will be at 380 Rivertown Drive, Suite 200 in Woodbury. Unless enough kids audition for a double cast, full cast will need to be available for all performances and technical rehearsals.

Rehearsals: Friday evenings 6-8:30 and Saturday afternoons 1-3:30 starting February 27 (no rehearsals during Spring Break Mar 15-19)

Outrageously funny and unexpectedly silly. Impress a date! Get some screen-free culture into your kids! Go outside for a little vitamin D! Hang with the neighbors! Bring your own lawn chair or a picnic blanket. The kids can even watch while enjoying the playground. (Dogs welcome.)

The Page to Stage Program has been paused for 2027, and will resume in 2028. Meanwhile, MAC is still accepting script submissions. Any scripts received for 2027 will be rolled into the 2028 program application unless the playwright has decided to pull the script.

Page to Stage New Play Festival – Readings the last 2 weekends in February

If you’re looking to get back into theater without giving up 8 weeks of evenings, this is it. Re-ignite your love of theater and remember why you loved it in the first place!

Auditions: November 14, 2026. Callbacks November 21, 2026 – Auditions are open to Men and Women. No registration fee. Rehearsals will be 2 evenings per week in January and February. 

  • If all audition appointments are full, show up early, and we will fit you into a no-show slot. We generally have about 1/3 no-shows.
  • Please bring 2 contrasting monologues that are 1-2 minutes in length. They need not be memorized – reading is okay since the audition is for a reading.

    SEEKING PROPOSALS from EXPERIENCED DIRECTORS

    What’s on your bucket list of plays you want to direct? Send your proposal in for future seasons!

     Available production slots: 

    Outdoor “In the Park” productions for the summer of 2027. Rehearsing May-June for performances in June in parks throughout Washington County. Script must be 90 minutes or less, and be doable without technical support for an outdoor show. 

    Adult Comedy March 2027 (G, PG, or R) – Jan 15-Mar rehearsals; Load In 2nd week in March; Tech 3rd week in March, Performances at 2pm the last 2 weekends in March.

    Kids’ Spring Show 2027 for actors ages 5-9 (Rated-G) -Feb-April rehearsals on Saturday mornings only from 9:30-11:30am; Load In 2nd week in April; Tech 3rd week in April, Performances at 1pm the last weekend in April and the first weekend in May. Must be 20-30 minutes in length with a flexible cast of early and non-readers. 

    To submit a proposal, send your list of up to 3 plays per available production slots, along with a 3 sentence synopsis and 3 sentences about the director concept, along with a resume, 3 references and a cover letter to Barbe@merrillartscenter.org.
