Miss Nelson is Missing Auditions

Miss Nelson can’t control her crazy classroom because she’s just too nice. But when she disappears, her replacement is the hard-as-nails, detention-loving, recess-canceling, homework-overloading substitute teacher Viola Swamp! With the Big Test approaching, the kids suddenly realize how much they miss Miss Nelson and they’ll do anything — including hiring a private eye — to solve the mystery of her disappearance and bring her back.

Miss Nelson is Missing is Merrill Arts Center’s annual By-Kids-For-Kids show! Cast members will get the chance learn new, exciting skills and maybe get a little dirty in our Maker’s Studios taught by working theatre designers. Cast members will work alongside the designers to create the scenery, props and costumes for the show!

4 Teen Actors (2 female-identified, 2 male-identified) for the roles of Miss Nelson, Miss Viola Swamp, Principal Humleker, Dectective McSmogg

6 child actors (2 female-identified, 2 male-identified, 2 any gender-identity) for the roles of the children in Miss Nelson’s classroom

Auditions: May 20, 2022 4:00-6:00pm & May 21, 2022 1:00pm to 3:00pm

Callbacks will be May 22, 2022

Auditionees: memorize and perform a 60 second cutting from your favorite storybook, be expressive & make bold choices! We want to see your storytelling skills!

Rehearsal starts: August 22, 2022 typically Mon-Thur from 4:30pm to 6:30pm, may have some Saturday mornings.
