Natalia Romero-Originally from Colombia, Natalia Romero is an experienced performer, music director and actor. Her passion lies in the collaboration of vocal music and storytelling through theater. Her strengths include bridging the gap from traditional Bel Canto singing into contemporary musical theater techniques and bringing music to life with youth performers. Working full time as a choir director at Harding High School, Natalia also freelances around the Twin Cities as a music director and actor with various theater companies. Recent directing credits include The Little Mermaid (MD), Wizard of Oz (MD), and Camelot (MD). This spring he has been in La Crosse devising a brand new Peter Pan told entirely through Dance at the La Crosse Dance Center. Recent Twin Cities credits include Jesus Christ Superstar at The Ordway Center, and multiple works with Collide Theatrical Jazz dance company encompassing their most recent collaboration at The History Theatre in St. Paul titled Dance Till You Drop. He’s wickedly excited to be back with the Merrill Community Art Center’s summer programming, and even more excited to get the chance to choreograph to one of his all time favorite musical scores as the choreographer of Chicago.
