ADDITIONAL COURSE INFORMATION:
Dive into theater arts training through four sessions each day. Improvisation, Acting, Music Theater, and Movement will help you explore what makes a great performance and what makes you a great performer! Discover your strengths and places to grow with small class sizes and in-depth coaching from professional teaching artists. This new offering will provide a great place to prepare for upcoming auditions and performances and leave you with a tool box of skills to carry with you. There will be a small showcase for family and fellow participants at the end of the week.
Making things up can feel like a scary challenge, but we’re here to let you in on a little secret-you can totally do it! Improvisation sessions will cover the basics of both comedic and dramatic improv so you can get on your feet and create fun, funny, and creative performances! These classes are fast-paced and new every time.
Classes in acting will focus on bringing words to life. These sessions will explore the fundamentals of acting technique and what to do with a script! A variety of styles will be explored as well as prepared and cold reading work.
These sessions are designed to offer training in doing everything at once! Integrating song, speech, and movement, this course allows for practice in performance as well as technique based coaching in all areas of musical storytelling. Students will be assigned songs and receive assistance in devising performances for a small showcase.
Movement and Dance
Movement and Dance is a session designed to meet you where you’re at! Whether you’re an experienced dancer ready to play and be challenged, or someone who considers themselves an “actor who moves”, get ready to move your body. It’s easy to forget just how much moving plays into creating a character and telling a story. These sessions will jumpstart your love of dance and offer a variety of technique and dance training to boost your confidence and/or explore new styles.
